Vintage Quilt c1940s Pansy Medallion Quilt from West Virginia, 68in x 88in. Quilt is compromised of 5x5x10 triangles, with hand appliqued and hand embroidered pansies in pastel colors and green leaves. They are set with alternating solid off-white triangles. Color and orientation create a medallion style visual arrangement. The quilt is hand and machine pieced, and hand quilted in off-white thread around each triangle and pansy, and a pansy flower in each alternating triangle. There is one solid border 3.5in wide. Thin cotton batting with off white backing. Off white applied bias binding applied by hand (back) and machine (front). This quilt has a label from the West Virginia Quilt Documentation Project.
