February Antique & Vintage Quilt Auction
Vintage c1930s Cats and Dog crib quilt top measuring 44×57 inches. This is an unfinished with no batting or backing. There are 12 hand appliqued and embroidered blocks, set on point with sweet dogs and cats in pastel prints with solid bows. The 6 alternate blocks are marked for quilting with the same motifs. A yellow cotton solid border frames the piece. The piecing was executed by hand, as well. In very good condition with just a couple of small spots and storage line discoloration across the center. This quilt was part of Laura Fisher’s estate. Laura Fisher was a New York based world renowned quilt expert, dealer and author, and in offering these textiles for sale we hope to honor her legacy of style and scholarship.
