February Antique & Vintage Quilt Auction
Set of three vintage childs Marseilles spreads with storybook or nursery rhymes motifs. The pink with white and one of the white on white feature the same designs including the numbers on top and the alphabet on the bottom. Both measure 46 x 61 inches. These two are believed to be 20th century. Other white spread measures 46 x 58 inches. While similar with some of the same nursery rhymes and stories, this one also features zoo animals along the sides. On Laura’s tag she noted that this one is 19th century. All three are in fair condition with scuffs, spots, and discoloration. No holes noted. These spreads were a part of Laura Fisher’s estate. Laura Fisher was a New York based world renowned quilt expert, dealer and author, and in offering these textiles for sale we hope to honor her legacy of style and scholarship.
