Antique c 1870s crib quilt with Variable Stars center and Flying Geese Border. Measures about 33×34 inches. The star blocks are only 3×3 inches! It is hand pieced and hand quilted and has a double pink reverse. This quilt was part of Laura Fisher’s estate. Laura Fisher was a New York based world renowned quilt expert, dealer and author, and in offering these textiles for sale we hope to honor her legacy of style and scholarship. Laura described this quilt as: Diminutive pieced stars framed with a tiny scale Flying Geese border combine in a true crib quilt from the mid-19th century. Lovely natural browns and greens are more sophisticated than the baby colors we are familiar with, and are neutral enough for a child of either sex, or for wall display in your grown up home. It is in good condition with some edge wear, spots, and moisture discoloration. We do our best to describe all items in detail and provide pictures. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
