Antique c1860 Red and Green Floral Applique quilt measuring 82×88 inches. 16 blocks are set on point with solid white alternating squares and setting triangles and a white border. Floral motif is similar to rose or lotus flowers. Fabrics are turkey red solid, and a solid green. It is hand pieced, hand appliqued and hand quilted. The cotton batting is very thin, and the back in a white solid cotton. In my opinion, the red binding is not original, and is probably post 1920s. The hand quilting is amazing in the quilt. Very dense with double line quilting and an urn motif with flowers surrounded by feathers is repeated along the border and in the alternate blocks. In fair condition with major fabric deterioration, and small spots. We do our best to describe all items in detail and provide pictures. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
