Antique, possibly Eastern European, linen robe with black and red hand embroidery and embellished edges. Measures 48 inches from top of collar to bottom hem, 17.5 inches across the shoulder and 21 inch long sleeves. Elaborate geometric motif down the front, on the collar and arms, and a band along the bottom. Construction is by hand and machine. Has two small pockets. In good condition with some small spots and discoloring on the edge in front. This item was part of Laura Fisher’s estate. Laura Fisher was a New York based world renowned quilt expert, dealer and author, and in offering these textiles for sale we hope to honor her legacy of style and scholarship.
