c1900 Antique Wool Child’s Quilt with Hand Painting. 42in x 53in. 20 Economy Quilt blocks measuring 10in by 10, set straight 4 by 5 with no borders. Fabrics are a variety of wools. The center of each is hand painted, similar to motifs you would see in a Victorian Crazy Quilt. There are pansies, a fan, tulips and other botanicals, a butterfly. It is machine pieced, and tied. It is hand embroidered along the perimeter of the quilt. I do no detect any batting, and the backing is a bluish/green cotton twill. The edge is finished in an orange and brown hand crocheted shell stitch. Please see our You Tube channel for a video preview of this quilt.
