Antique c1830s Bars or Strippy quilt. 96in by 91in. Very balanced in the distribution of fabrics, with the floral chintz as the alternating strip. It is hand pieced and hand quilted in interlocking circles down the center of each bar. Thin cotton batting, natural muslin cotton backing, and a woven tape edge finished 3 sides, with the edge along the top being self or knife edge finished. Corner cut outs along the bottom edge to accommodate a 4 poster bed. Possibly from New England. Please see a video preview of this quilt on our You Tube channel.
