September Antique Quilt & Textile Auction
Antique quilt, circa 1890s, from Lehigh, Pennsylvania. It measures 86 by 86 inches. Very graphic punch with its Turkey red border and red solid center squares. There is also a 1.25 wide chrome yellow border. Aside from the obvious Turkey red fabric, the other fabrics include neons, double pink, Lancaster blue, stripes, indigos, solids, and more. It is hand and machine pieced, hand quilted at 7 spi. It was finished by bringing the top red border fabric over to the back and hand stitched.
