September Antique Quilt & Textile Auction
Measuring 73in x 73in, this c1940s patriotic red, white and blue textile is more of a summer spread than a quilt. On 4 muslin feed sacks red, white and blue petals creating flowers were machine appliqued, and then pieced, with additional leaves along the sides and flower in the center. Red, white, and blue borders were then added and butted up against, or knife edge finished, against the feed sacks. All piecing was also executed by machine.
