Rare Antique 1880s Bandana Textile Sample Book. Large paper covered record book measuring 21 inches high by 14 inches wide and 5 inches thick. Cover is marked “Mouchoirs, Imprime 1884-1885.” Book contains 100 pages, covered on both sides with over 200 mainly bandana and handkerchief cotton fabric swatches, including figures, animals, botanicals, ships and more, average swatch size is 12 x 12 inches, representing 1/4 of finished handkerchief. A few pages are empty. This collection contains mostly French fabrics from the 1880s. Swatches are in good condition. Some of the samples have adhesive stains and are loose in the book. Book is in poor condition, pages are yellowed with foxing, some pages have crumbing edges, spine is detached. For a full video preview of the book, please visit Dana Auctions’ YouTube Channel.
