Vintage 1980 Christian Friendship Sampler Quilt from Doylestown Community Bible study class PA presented to Grace S. MacRae. Quilt measures 74×88". It is comprised of 20 blocks about 12×12 ", set straight, 4×5, with 2.75" green sashing, an inner border and a 6" calico print outer border. It is hand pieced, hand and machine appliqued, hand embroidered, hand painted and hand quilted. There is a thin polyester batting and a bright pink reverse. The edge is finished with an applied green bias tape binding. Each block is a different pattern, many with Christian themes, bible verses and signatures. In good condition with only a few small spots. Grace MacRae was the wife of Allan MacRae who is a well know Presbyterian theologian who attended Princeton Seminary and University amongst many other notable universities.
