Antique 1881 Silk and Velvet Hexagon Quilt Top measuring 52×74". Comprised of 12 velvet blocks, 14×15", set straight, 3×4, with 4.5" black sashing. Each velvet quilt block has 16 silk with velvet center hexagon rosettes. The hexagons measure about 1/2" along one side. All the centers are a black velvet. Each block then consists of silk rosettes in 2 colors. Each rosette is then hand embroidered in different motifs with coordinating colors. Embroidered designs include geometric shapes, figures, flowers, household items, animals and the date 1881. It is hand pieced, hand appliqued and hand embroidered. Just a quilt top with no batting, backing or quilting. In good condition with only minor silk shattering in one block. If you have any doubt, please ask questions! In house Flat Rate Shipping of $20 is a domestic shipping estimate for first quilt and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
