Dana Auctions Jan 2021 Antique Textile Sale
Antique Star Quilt in Cheddar, Oxblood, and Teal measuring 75 by 96 inches. Comprised of 12 star blocks about 22inches by 22 inches, set straight 3 by 4, with a triple strip sashing and border 2 inches wide, and cornerstones of the same fabric as the block ground, a white with blue print shirting. It is hand pieced, and hand quilted. Cotton batting with blue small dot on white cotton fabric backing. A separate binding with of the same fabric was applied by machine to the back, and by hand to the front, with rounded corners. There are 2 paper tags sewn to a corner, crediting the quilt to Mrs Robert Flammer, who would have been from northwest New York State and that several family members worked on the quilt.
