Antique c1852 Lemoyne Star quilt measuring 82 inches by 91 inches. Along one border are hand quilted initials MR and 1852. The stars have some earlier fabrics. There are 42 stars, set 6 by 7, but they are actually part of the sashing. The white square is actually the block. It is framed in a double green zig zag border, and a swag out border. Hand pieced, hand appliqued and hand quilted. The hand quilting is very nice! Thin cotton batting and off white cotton backing. The front is brought to the back and applied by hand. Unfortunately, this quilt is in poor condition. Many of the fabrics in the stars are deteriorated, specifically a Turkey red print and a brown print, and there are some spots. It appears some conservation was already attempted, but would need a lot more work to bring this quilt back to a presentable status. In house Flat Rate Shipping is an estimate.
