Antique quilt c1890s, but finished probably c1960s. It measures 80 inches by 81 inches. Comprised of 36 blocks with 4 bowties with red sashing, one is a Chimney Sweep block, 8.5 inches by 8.5 inches, set straight 6 by 6, with dark green print sashing and claret print cornerstones. There is a 8 inch wide blue solid border and backing from the 1970s. It is hand and machine pieced and hand quilted. Thin polyester batting, and the backing comes to the front to finished the edge. Believed to have been from the Shenandoah Valley, VA region. In fair condition, with significant fading to clarets and folds, and some split seams.
