Vintage c1940 String Pieced Hexagon Quilt is actually composed of diamond shapes. Fabric placement creates the secondary design. Comfort measures 53 x 75 inches. The diamonds are 10.5 x 6 inches. It is machine pieced and hand tied at each intersection with blue yarn. Thick cotton batting and a pieced one block pattern on the back. 2 quilts for the price of one. Quilt has a label stating it was made by the family of Dorothy Thompson of Barnegat NJ when they lived in the Boston area. It is in fair condition with spots, watermarks and overall edge wear, fabric deterioration on 2 squares on the back. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
