February Antique & Vintage Quilt Auction
Antique c1850 Strawberry pattern quilt measuring 80×83 inches. Consists of 9 blocks, 15×15 inches, set on point, 3 by 3, with alternating off white squares and setting triangles. Border has an undulating vine with red flowers. Quilt is entirely pieced by hand, hand appliqued and hand quilted in parallel lines through the applique and feathered wreaths with cross hatched centers and double line quilting. The quilting is very elaborate and finely executed. Applied edging. It has a red piping embellishment. Condition is fair – Turkey red is starting to abraid. The green has gone to tan, wear to edging, small tear by edging, and small spots. We do our best to describe all items in detail and provide pictures. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
