Antique 19th century needlework, mounted but unframed, measuring 18.5 x 18.5 inches. Octagon vignettes with various fruits, flowers, and animals such as a horse, deer, cat, and dog, monogrammed in the center with a “GHE, ” and a cross. White crosses on a black square are also at each intersection and partial crosses along the edges. In very good condition, some fading to the black color. This item was part of Laura Fisher’s estate. Laura Fisher was a New York based world renowned quilt expert, dealer and author, and in offering these textiles for sale we hope to honor her legacy of style and scholarship.
