Vintage c1930s Cake Stand Quilt measuring 84×96 inches. At first, I thought this may have been a cotton sateen, the quilt reflect lights and such a sheen! But it is not a sateen weave. I believe this to be a silk or silk blend. A very skilled needle artist created this work. 30 Cake Stand blocks measuring 10.5×10.5 inches, set on point, 5 by 6, with off white solid alternating squares and setting triangles. There is a triple strip pieced border. Thin cotton batting with off white silk or blend reverse. Machine pieced and hand quilted. There is no tag, but this may have also been a part of the Harriet Hess Estate, the green and off white are the same fabric, see out Lot 25. It is in good condition with a small spots, and center line storage discoloration. We do our best to describe all items in detail and provide pictures. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
