Antique c1870 Unique Floral Applique quilt, possibly a rose or peony, measuring 83 x 85 inches. Comprised of nine blocks about 20 x 20 inches, set straight, 3 x 3, with a 12 inch solid white border on all four sides. There is a thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. The edges are finished with the front brought to the back and applied by hand. The quilt is handpieced, hand appliqued with some reverse applique. It is in poor condition with overall discoloration, spots, moisture damage, small tear, and edge wear. But a unique applique design that I do not think has been seen before.
