Antique c1910 Exploding Star Quilt measuring 77 x 77″. The exploding eight pointed star is comprised of diamonds about 2 inches along each side. Mostly red, white, and blue fabrics with some yellow and orange. There is an orange, red, and teal inner triple border which the star extends over, giving it the exploding aesthetic. There are four red and yellow print satellite stars in the corners. Outer pink print border measures 7.5 inches. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and a pink print reverse. The edge is finished with a blue print binding. The quilt was part of the 1991 Quilt Round Up Documentation Project by the Goschenhoppen Historians. It is in good condition with a few small spots and the blue lines for marking the quilting are still evident this may come out in cold water. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
