Vintage c1940 Unique Applique Floral Quilt measuring 69 x 78". It is comprised of 9 blocks, 23 x 26", set straight, 3 x 3. The design is very unique and possibly inspired from a 19 century design that is similar in the Encyclopedia of Appliqué by Barbara Brackman design number 41.8 which was from a quilt found in Texas. This version is missing the pot and the stems connecting the motifs together. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with and applied solid green fabric binding. It is in good condition with several small spots and soiling along the top. A very unique design.
