Vintage 1930 Poster Girls Kit Quilt Blocks were offer by Grandmother Clark. It measures 72 x 92 inches. It is comprised of 12 blocks about 15 x 16 inches, set straight, 3 by 4, with 5 inch solid blue sashing and 7.5 inch solid blue border. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, hand embroidered, hand applied lace embellishment, and hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. The scalloped edge is finished knife edge style, by hand. Each of the blocks features a pretty lady and a bonnet with lots of details in her dress, face, hat, etc. Each of the 6 motifs are repeated once. It is in poor condition with fabric loss, fading, spots, and small holes. But this is a very rare quilt to come across this kit. This quilt is part of the Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon’s Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon was THE authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website.
