Antique c1880s Puss in the Corner or 9 Patch Quilt measuring 30×42 inches. Small scale and great color combination Subtle yet intricate crib quilt arranged in diminutive scale pieced blocks, about 3.5 inches square, in rows of 6 blocks by 8 blocks, with 1.5 inch sashing and square in a square corner stones. This quilt was part of Laura Fisher’s estate. Laura Fisher was a New York based world renowned quilt expert, dealer and author, and in offering these textiles for sale we hope to honor her legacy of style and scholarship. She described this quilt as: Sophisticated appearance, proportion is what one wants to see in a true crib quilt. PA origin. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. It is in good condition with large dark discoloration on the top third of the quilt, some edge wear and fabric deterioration. I brown fabric has been hand stitched around the perimeter of the quilt, probably for stabilization of display purposes. We do our best to describe all items in detail and provide pictures.
