Vintage String Pieced Quilt from c1940s measuring 81×68 inches. 24 blocks in a 4 patch string pieced pattern are set straight 4 by 5 with green sashing and orange cornerstones and one very wide border along the top of the quilt. It is hand and machine pieced and hand quilted in a dark thread. Thick cotton batting and a dark chambray cotton backing. The workmanship is primitive and folky. It is in fair condition with an overall dingy appearance, spots, and musty odor, and would benefit for a soaking once the several seams that have split have been repaired. This quilt was collected in NC. We do our best to describe all items in detail and provide pictures. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
