Vintage 1930s Sunflower quilt, measuring 95″ x 73″. Comprised of 12 blocks 17″ x 17″, set straight 3 x 4, with 5.5″ wide orange sashing and orange borders. It is hand appliqued, machine pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and white cotton reverse. The edge is finished by hand knife edge style. Flower contains many feedsack and feedsack style prints. It is in very good condition with only a few large spots on one block that should soak out. A pencil was used to mark the quilting lines which are still evident. This quilt is part of the Living Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon’s Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon is the authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website.
