Antique c1850 Rose Bouquet Quilt with Turkey red, overdyed green, and Quercitron yellow fabrics. It measures 79×81″. It is comprised of 9 blocks, 22.5×22.5″, set straight, 3 by 3, with a 6″ border, of an undulated vine and scattered small flowers. It is hand pieced, hand applied and hand quilted. There is an off white cotton reverse and thin cotton batting. The edge is finished with an applied overdyed green print binding. In is in good condition with overall toning, small spots, and minor deterioration in the turkey red fabric. This quilt is part of the Living Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon’s Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon is the authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website.
