Antique Centennial Tied Quilt or Comfort. Measures 81" x 71". Centennial. 1776. 1876 with red and blue stars and squares is in the center and was possibly a banner or the beginning of a quilt. It is surrounded above and below with 5.5" rows of scrappy squares, a striped fabric, and a 1930s print along the outermost border. The backing is also a 1930s printed fabric. A true multigeneration piece. All hand pieced except for the 1930s border. Thick cotton batting and knife edge finished with an applique blanket stitch. In fair condition with overall toning, spots and fabric deterioration. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
