Spools Quilt signed and dated by Mary Schafer 1985 measures 76.5×95″. Comprised of 48 blocks, 6.5×6.5″, set straight, 6 by 8, with a 3″ yellow 1930s print sashing, and inner border, followed by a 3″ off white border, and 5.5″ yellow print outer border. It is hand pieced, hand quilted, and hand embroidered. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied off white fabric binding, by hand. It is in very good condition. Sleeve is attached to the top edge on the back for hanging.
